Under the leadership team of the CEO, President, and COO, the firm continues to support a vision of growth, innovation and enhanced expertise.

Rick Burnight, AIA, ACHA – Chief Executive Officer

With more than 35 years as an architect, planner and interior designer, with specialized certification as a healthcare architect, Rick’s focus as CEO is directed to staff development, leading and supporting special projects, and the Firm’s efforts to continuously improve our professional services and project delivery. After serving as President and CEO for over 12 years, he continues to provide strategic input and leadership on issues affecting the Firm’s growth and operations.

Amy Jones – President

Amy became the Firm’s fourth president in 2016. With 20 years in the A/E industry, she continues to focus on client relations, strategic partnerships, and community engagement while overseeing the implementation of the Firm’s mission and vision. She works directly with clients and oversees the Firm’s business development, marketing, and community relations. She is actively engaged in regional education initiatives and local nonprofit organizations through her community leadership.

Kim Cochran, CCCA – Chief Operating Officer

Kim has more than 35 years of experience in the design and construction industry. His experience and MBA training provide a strong foundation for his focus on the Firm’s operations and infrastructure, including financial planning; technology; contractual agreements; organizational performance; and the daily operations of the Firm’s offices as COO. He is a Certified Construction Contract Administrator and serves in an active executive leadership position on projects.

Chris Narendorf, LEED AP – Principal

Chris Narendorf has more than 17 years of experience in the management and development of higher education, K-12, commercial and healthcare facilities. He serves as the Office Director for the San Antonio office, with responsibility for all project scheduling and coordination.

Nick Patterson, PE, LEED AP BD+C – Principal

Nick Patterson has 18 years of experience in planning and designing engineering systems for healthcare and educational facility projects. As head of the firm’s Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering program, Nick specializes in MEP solutions for large complex projects. On all projects, his focus is on providing the most appropriate energy efficient solution.

Dave Watts, AIA, RAS, LEED AP – Principal

Dave Watts brings more than 38 years of experience and a deep knowledge of the technical components of building design. A registered architect, LEED Accredited Professional and registered accessibility specialist, Dave provides expertise in ADA and code compliancy issues and also leads implementation, training and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Ted Davison, HFDP, LEED AP – Principal

A mechanical designer with more than 16 years of experience, Ted Davison is one of fewer than 300 individuals in the United States who have earned the designation of Healthcare Facility Design Professional, demonstrating his knowledge of the design and operation of healthcare facilities. He has applied his expertise to a number of educational and healthcare projects, including complex MEP renovations and the one-of-a-kind Texas Center for Infectious Disease Hospital in San Antonio.

Jarrod Sterzinger, AIA, LEED AP – Principal

With an understanding of the impact the educational environment has on teaching and learning, Jarrod Sterzinger serves as O’Connell Robertson’s K-12 Education Team Director. He has more than 16 years of experience as both an architect and project manager for a variety of new and renovation educational projects, always demonstrating a commitment to achieving the project mission and the clients’ goals.
